Many of us are not eligible for Chicago’s Blue Cart Residential Recycling Program (check to see if you live within the Blue Cart service area), so we must look to one of 30 Blue Recycling Drop Off Boxes located throughout the city.

Our purpose behind this website is to make it easier for people find recycling drop-off locations in Chicago, and as a result, recycle more!

We are not an organization. We’re just two people who saw something that was difficult to do and decided to make a website to help make it easier.

Our story

The idea came about when we tried going to our usual residential drop-off center in Mozart Park, only to find an overflowing blue dumpster.  We needed to find an alternate drop-off center nearby, but even with a smart phone, that proved challenging because there was no interactive map on the City of Chicago site which showed the recycling center locations.

We saw an opportunity to create a map with all of the Chicago locations—both municipal and private—so that it would be easier for anyone to look up a recycling center nearest to them.
